Legal entities (LEI)

Look up legal entities in the GLEIF Global LEI Index and return LEI, legal name, entity and registration status, jurisdiction, legal form, renewal date and legal and headquarters addresses. Provide exactly one of lei (exact lookup of one entity) or name (search returning up to 10 matches).

Usage units appear in execution.usage.units for reconciliation and billing.

Request fields

Field Type Required Description
invocation_id string yes The market’s invocation id: one execution per id and operation, so a retry with the same id is rejected instead of charged twice. 1-128 characters of A-Z a-z 0-9 . _ : -.
provider string yes Provider that serves the request; choose by the coverage described for this tool. One of: gleif
lei string no 20-character ISO 17442 Legal Entity Identifier; provide exactly one of lei or name.
max_results integer no Number of entities for a name search, 1-10; default 5; ignored for an lei lookup.
name string no Legal name to search, 2-200 characters; provide exactly one of lei or name.
